Focus on Fetal Interventions and Postnatal Outcome
Prenatal diagnosis, fetal surgery, postnatal care — three disciplines, one clinical question: when is intervention before birth warranted, and when is it not? On October 9 and 10, 2026, international fetal surgeons, neonatologists, and maternal-fetal medicine specialists from Europe and the United States meet at Bucerius Law School Hamburg to work through that question, condition by condition.
Topics include CDH, open spina bifida, abdominal wall defects, monochorionic twin complications, preeclampsia, fetal growth restriction, cardiac and neurological anomalies, and antibody-mediated diseases in pregnancy (FNAIT, HDFN, GALD).
The Hamburg International Symposium takes place at the Bucerius Law School, Jungiusstraße 6, 20355 Hamburg – a historic campus right next to Planten un Blomen park and only a few minutes from the Inner Alster lake. The location is well connected to Hamburg Airport (S-Bahn S1, approx. 25 min) and Hamburg Hauptbahnhof (one stop on the S-Bahn to Dammtor).
To make your arrival as smooth as possible, we have put together a selection of hotels at different price points, all within walking distance or one short metro ride.

The Hamburg International Symposium takes place at the Bucerius Law School, Jungiusstraße 6, 20355 Hamburg – centrally located between Dammtor station and Planten un Blomen park, just a few minutes from the Inner Alster.
Hamburg is one of Europe's best-connected cities by rail. ICE and IC trains from Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Cologne, Copenhagen and Zürich arrive at Hamburg Hauptbahnhof.
Some long-distance trains stop directly at Dammtor station.
Hamburg Airport (HAM) is approximately 10 km from the venue and well connected to the city centre.
International guests with connecting flights also reach Hamburg comfortably via Frankfurt (FRA) or Munich (MUC), both with frequent ICE connections to Hamburg Hauptbahnhof.
Hamburg is served by the motorways A1 (Bremen / Lübeck), A7 (Hannover / Flensburg), A23 (Heide) and A24 (Berlin).
Parking near the venue is limited. We recommend one of the following public car parks:
| Car park | Address | Walking distance |
|---|---|---|
| Tiefgarage CCH | Tiergartenstraße 2 | ~5 min |
| Tiefgarage Messe Ost | Bei den Kirchhöfen | ~5 min |
| Parkhaus Stephansplatz | Stephansplatz 8 | ~5 min |
Please note: during the parallel POLARIS Convention (9–11 October 2026) at the adjacent Hamburg Messe, parking demand in the Dammtor area will be exceptionally high. We strongly recommend using public transport on the symposium weekend.
